New American Standard Bible - NASB. The NASB is a smooth reading Bible translation with accuracy you can trust.

New American Standard Bible - NASB. Originally produced in 1971 and updated in 1995, the NASB is widely embraced and trusted as a literal English translation. The Lockman Foundation is a nonprofit, interdenominational ministry dedicated to the translation, publication, and distribution of the New American Standard Bible (NASB), Amplified Bible (AMP), La Biblia de las Américas (LBLA), Nueva Biblia de las Américas (NBLA), and other Biblical resources.

And reading the nasb in this format I am able to go through the Bible book after book and not have to rely on any footnotes or appendixes or anything of that nature. For me and is a way to learn more, to test and refine what I already know, but also to realize the limitations that I have and look to other reference materials such as a concordance or a Bible dictionary when I have run into something that I don't understand. The reading of the Bible in this form is much appreciative on my end.

Christian Standard Bible. Defenders of the Gospel.

The Lockman Foundation. The Lockman Foundation. NASB Side-Column Reference Wide Margin Bible; Black Leathertex.

The NASB remains, however, the most literal version of the English Bible commonly used in churches today.

I truly enjoy the use of this Bible. I do look up things in Greek or in Hebrew or an Aramaic, there are of course differences and translations and interpretations for how one might view the accuracy of any literal translation such as the nasb or the esv, but, I do feel that this version does seem to have a little bit less of thought or personal interpretation forced onto it. All-in-all I recommend the nasb.

Nanoscale font and flimsy paperback. It came bent and the back of the book was ripped enough for me not to use it. It was supposed to be a "brand new" copy. But I guess you get what you pay for.

This Bible is black letter, written in paragragh format, with bold numbers indicating paragragh changes. There are no book introductions, no concordance or index. This is a very basic bible.
The major issue I have with this particular book is the font size. It is not easily readable. It's very small. Even with excellent lighting I would not recommend reading from this text for long periods of time, due to eye strain. To make matters worse, it's printed on a newspaper-type of paper. It has a greyish hue and is not stark white, making the text even more difficult to read.
I would recommend this particular bible for quick reference type usage. It is definately not one I could leisurely read and enjoy.
Due to its light weight, size and inexpensive cost, this would be a good bible to keep in your car or carry in a purse, backpack, or briefcase. It measures about 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall and is about 3/4ths of an inch thick.

Tiny print and no room to write. Pages are thin but work. I like that it's compact and fits in my bag like a regular book without being heavy.
  • Gelgen
Good deal, came quickly, inexpensive, but small print.

the print is so super small and the quality of paper of pages is very poor
This bible is very slim. When I first received it I thought it was the New Testament only since it was so thin. It also has larger text than I expected. The only issue is that the text is bolder than the verse numbers inside a paragraph, making finding particular verses more difficult than with some other bibles. This is a small complaint for an otherwise excellent bible.
