I chose this as my devotional for the year . Same verse is used for several days which I like. This allows me to really think about the verse and apply it to my life. Devotions are written by different people. So far, I have enjoyed all of them. I am not able to attend a weekly First place meeting, but do enjoy the help this program gives me through their books.

This is a great daily devotional encouraging positive and health living with an emphasis on weight loss. The contibutors who write the devotions are ordinary people who have struggled with weight issues themselves and have learned how to replace an unhealthy desire for overeating with a new style of living and a new focus on what is first in their life. This Christian focus is the secret to a happier and more fulfilling life. It is a wonderful companion devotion to the First Place 4 Health weight loss program and bible study and I highly recommend it.

Although I am not a member or FIRST PLACE, I have read this and other books by Carole Lewis. This book will help you accept yourself as you are now, and encourage you to make improvements in yourself. The authors share how they struggled in areas of their life, but were able to overcome and not use food to cope with their challenges of life or health. It encourages prayer and journaling, & will reinforce your other choices for improvements in your life.

Great book for daily devotions.

It isn't seriously deep, not profound but there are so many good points and thought provoking devotions in the book. I have only read a two and a half months worth but I am enjoying it. I recommend it.

I begin my day each morning with the devotion from this book. When I received it in December I decided to begin the next morning instead of waiting to the first of the year. Everyone who wants to be God, should have this book. A Balanced life is so important.

Was chosen as a gift for a special person who might benefit from it. After thumbing through it, found it to be more than expected and was delighted.
Love this devotional. It has helped me on many days.
