This is the first book I have read about John G. Lake, Pentecostal evangelist (circa 1900-1935), and starter of the Spokane Healing Rooms. The title quite adeptly describes what is contained in the book - this is a book on how the Holy Spirit can come to inhabit one's soul and do great works for the glory of God. Rev. Lake describes miraculous healings that took place in South Africa and in America. The healings are so miraculous, that one can only concur that they are of God and from God, through the Holy Spirit.

The last three chapters of the book explain how Rev. Lake was baptized into the Holy Spirit, and how the reader can prepare his/her soul for the same.

This is a marvelous book, a book I could hardly put down. I most highly recommend it to those searching for something more in their faith life. The Holy Spirit is that "something more". He enlivens and gives power to the WORD of God, and great works result.

This book is a great starting point for a study of the Holy Spirit. I liked it so much, I am ordering more works on the life and ministry on John G. Lake.

John G. Lake was the founder of the "Healing Rooms". This book tells of a life lived in the "Spirit" and what God can do if we just get quiet and listen for the voice of the "Spirit". An amazing book recording the diligent work of one man wholly dedicated to God's purpose in his time in history. Surely this book is a must read for those who want to grow in the knowledge of things of the "Spirit."

I have the Book published by Kenneth Copeland. I can't get over how the passion of John G Lake comes through the written word. I have a friend who is reading the book published by Copeland. She senses the passion also. This man must have had the passion of Christ because it permeates his writings. When you read it you want what he had. It is very compelling.
