Ride the Wild River (Reno Western Saga ISBN. 0842357955 (ISBN13: 9780842357951). Reno's half brother, Thad Stevens, is briefly mentioned in this book, and the boy he picked up in book 3 is included in this story. In this book Julie Wade was looking over her reflection. She was almost 17, but her mother had died 15 months earlier, and she had been isolated at the farm. I cared more for Dooley and her struggles. One major plus is that there is a TON of tie-in with the previous book.

I ran across this book shortly after it was published under a different title (The Runaway). It is a very enticing western. It has a good plot that you want to follow, to see if things work out in the end. And, no, it is not all hunky-dory. There are consequences to all actions and Mr. Morris tries to show that. I liked it well enough to see if there are any other books in the series.

This was purchased as a gift for my husband who requested it. I'm assuming he liked as she asked for more in the series.
