Set in Australia in the 1870s and continuing immediately after book in the series, it was somewhat poorly written and at times hard to follow the story line.

Aug 02, 2018 Sonya rated it liked it. Shelves: biblical-fiction, historical-fiction. Large amounts of time passed between scenes without any reference to how much when the next scene started. Made it hard to see continuity. Set in Australia in the 1870s and continuing immediately after book in the series, it was somewhat poorly written and at times hard to follow the story line. At times jumped from theme to theme without making much sense. Dec 05, 2015 Ester rated it liked it. Shelves: christian-fiction.

Book 2 of 10 in the Warrior Chronicles Series. In spite of the fact that he loves the Danes and considers himself one of them, Uhtred is still a Saxon and still hopes to reclaim his family lands in Northumbria. In his pursuit of that goal, he aligns himself with Alfred of Wessex. He gives Alfred his oath. He will fight against the Danes. By the ninth century, the Saxons, Uhtred's people, had taken most of the territory of the future England from the Britons and the Welsh. They had, in fact, held most of the land for hundreds of years.

For the Love of the Land is the 2nd book of the Queensland Chronicles series and is just as good as the first. Once again, we are shown Daniel's and Rebecca's struggles and how God is ever faithful. He never promised we would be pain free by tee promised He would never leave us.

If I could give this book more stars, I would. Bit since I can't, I am giving it 5-stars. :) This is the 2nd book read by Bonnie Leon with "The Heart of Thorton Creek" being the first. I didn't think this series could get any better, but I was wrong. It held my attention so well that I ended up foregoing sleep, not realizing how late (or early) it was. When a book does that to me, my friends and family know I've just read a GREAT book.

While this could be read as a stand alone book, I would not suggest doing so...I would recommend reading the first book "For the Love of the Land" before reading this one. And I can't wait to get started reading the 3rd and final book in this series.

This story was filled with heart ache & grief, but through it all Willa & her daughter in law never gave up their faith, if only it was so easy to have faith when things look so bleak.
Bonnie is a great writer able to keep your interest, it is hard to close the I-Pad & get my work done you want to know what happens next.
Looking forward to book 3!

After reading the first book in the series, I couldn't wait to buy and read no. 2. Once again it was an excellent read. I love the real character with their struggles to survive. I didn't want to put it down and managed to Finnish it in two days. Not sure if there is a book 3 but I do hope there is.

I loved this series on the Australian frontier. I hope a third book is on the way.... the main characters are lovable and endearing.

After reading the first in the series, the second book was so much better and really expressed the hardships and ruggedness of the land and country. Harshness of the weather combined with elements of deadly instances resulted in reading and not putting down till finished.
Great unfolding Generational story..Do Not Put It Down. .I might mention one thing..I wanted to skip the review process. .and buy the next book..because I'm enthralled with these books I will still purchase. .do not make reviews mandatory. .I'm sure folks will not purchase for this reason. .
