I've been looking at buying a business for some time now. This book is well layed out and has practical information for someone looking to buy a small to mid-sized business. At the end of the day all the books recommend that you get yourself a good accountant and lawyer to do the deal.

Good book. Well organized. I enjoyed it, though for different reasons I never pursued my interest in working as a business broker.

Ok for those very new to buying or selling a business. Not terribly well supported by specific examples.Would not be my first choice.

Speaking as someone that lives and breathes this topic, I congratulate this author on successfully addressing issues surrounding a small business sale. The book is written for both the buyer and seller, with a slight preference or tilt towards a buyer's perspective. I liked the emphasis on the importance of knowing yourself and your goals before starting the buy/sell process. There are ample definitions and worksheets to explain basic terms. Overall, a recommended book for someone new to business and business sales, particularly in the small business area.

With a companion CD-ROM, this title is great for anyone planning to buy or sell a small business. It includes everything you'll need to know about valuing the business, evaluating the business, financing and raising the capital, while supplying many of the much needed letters and legal forms that will be used throughout the entire process.

Made up of easy to read, short chapters, you will find much of the important information broken down into bulleted and numbered lists throughout the text. This allows the reader to find just the information needed quickly, while also breaking down what could be an overwhelming amount of information into digestible pieces.

In this title you will find the "Classified Case Studies: Directly From The Experts" pages which are commonly found in books by Atlantic Publishing Group, Inc. These pages give valid, real life experiences from professionals who have already bought or sold a small business.

If you have a small business and are looking to sell, or you are an entrepreneur looking to purchase, this title may be just the one for you!

This book was written a little dry. It reminded me a bit of all the college lectures I've sat through, dull but highly informative. A few times the author repeats herself verbatim. It's unclear if she does so because she feels the point must be stressed, or if she's expecting the reader to jump around in the book. The case studies seemed to be a mismatch for the overall purposes of the book as they focused on individuals starting new businesses as opposed to buying or selling the business. The information is detailed so if you are a notice the book warrants rereading. Overall not a bad read.
