This is an interesting book as unlike many others it focuses on the M&A trends for the near future. Written in a very easygoing style it touches upon the concept of merganic and why M&As are here to stay. It is a different read - not a book that tells you how to deal with M&As in practice. Basically the premise is that companies should achieve competitive advantage by seeking organic growth, M&As and strategic alliances at the same time (this is basic business strategy), but proposes a new way of achieving business goals via coherence.

The examples that the authors use are recent and they are referring to the landscape after the market crash of 2008. It is not groundbreaking, but has the advantage of pulling together info that can be found by reading financial newspapers and making an analysis of the info relating to M&As. Very good.
