Reach with a raised crescent pad from the early 1900s. Since these pop up with almost the same frequency as the TGP, I checked out the seller.

So part two of my sandbox adventures is up! Well it actually has been up all night, I fell asleep on the couch shortly after posting it live, lol. Again this is really a kid oriented bag or a gift idea. I did find this one to be a lot more fun, but again don't want to ruin the video. So part two of my sandbox adventures is up! The guy lounging was Les Dane himself! He was very sweet and told me all kinds of sales stories. I never did attend his seminar at that time, but he gave me his business card. It was a white stock with with a simple LES DANE in the middle of the card in red ink and his phone number below it- nothing else. I kept it for the longest time, until my wallet was stolen. A few years later, he came to Toronto and did a seminar which I attended.

I write sales training manuals, and am a sales trainer. So I read and collect old sales books. Sometimes they are brilliant, and sometimes a waste.

This is a book written in 1973. So don't go looking for cutting edge psychology in selling.

But you get a very straight forward look at the different ways to prospect when selling. For some reason, the author really likes "Bird Dog" systems, where someone finds prospects for you. There is much here on where to find people that could become leads for you. You could call it the Old School way to "Network". Still useful today.

I gave the book 5 stars because it is well written, and for a newer salesperson, offers some solid sales prospecting tips.

This book definitely gives you a very good shift of viewpoint in terms of how, when and where to acquire qualified prospects for whatever you are doing. It sort of opens your eyes to true opportunities that are sitting around us all the time.
Really good part is this - book is written based on actual practices of successful people, not based on opinions but actual results.

After reading it I understood - there is no such thing as shortage of clients and work!

Great book. Even though it's very old, the techniques discussed are still applicable in 2016.

No look at selling would be complete without these ideas. Even if you don't have any leads he still has ideas of how to start out not at the beginning.
Very entertaining as the ideas roll out at a fast pace.
