The town wakes early, like it does every day; small towns need a head start if they’re going to have any chance in the world. The rows of cars in the parking lot outside the factory are already covered with snow; people are standing in silent lines with their eyes half-open and their minds half-closed, waiting for their electronic punch cards to verify their existence to the clocking-in machine. Out on the road the commuters set off for bigger towns beyond the forest; their gloves slam against heating vents and their curses are the sort you only think of uttering when you’re drunk, dying, or sitting in a far-too-cold Peugeot far too early in the morning.

Love this. We have Bear on a bike and fell in love with these books. Rhyming is simple, colors are vibrant , and stories about the bear are easy to follow. My kids love these books. My son was introduced to these books when he was 16 months old and has held his attention as well as my preschooler.

I discovered these "Bear" books when my son was an infant, and we have several of them now. He really likes all of them-- the words are very simple, so my two-year-old understands everything. The pictures are bright and active, so there are new details to notice every time we read it. "Bear About Town" is about Bear visiting different places (bakery, cinema, park). This is great since we live in a big city and walk to many of the same places each week.

Great book about the days of the week. Each day Bear goes to a new place. We own Bear takes a trip which I LOVE! This week is cute but it's not as exciting so 4 stars. I will say the illustrations in the books are different but interesting. It's always a lot to see and learn about in each page.
  • GAMER
The preferred choice of books for our nearly 2 year old! The colors are great, good story, and the books are sturdy. His favorites are Bear About Town, and Bears Busy Family. But he does like all the series and is beginning to read because of them we believe. Our 5 year old who began reading at 2, reads these to our youngest as well and he still enjoys. Any Bear series is recommended by us.

These are my 2.5 year old boy's favorite books! We are getting all of them for him because he loves them so much. They really hold his attention, and he always finds something new to focus on in the pictures.

I found this book in a used book store and fell in love with it and so did my son and husband. I plan on ordering the others in the series. There are many things to talk about on each page. For example, when Bear goes to the bakery you can talk about all of the different things you can buy at the bakery, cake, cupcakes, bread including regular loaves of bread or long skinny baguettes, cookies, donuts etc. The language stimulation possibilities are endless the with fabulous pictures throughout the books. As a speech pathologist I look for books with pictures that have a lot to talk about and this book fits the bill.
  • Moogugore
This books is great for my 21 month old! He loves to point out all the things in the pictures (which are great by the way). The dog, the clock etc. There aren't a lot of words so we can spend time identifying what's in the picture.
Stella Blackstone is by far the best kids author.... As an adult that has read this series to each 4 of my kids and now my grand baby, its always a joy. Perfect condition and quick shipping thank you
