It is an ideal book to share with preschoolers, both at home and in the classroom—especially those who love books about transportation!

In this wordless picture book, a large, bright red trailer truck packed with tricycles moves through pages of fog, truck stops, and crowded highways. "Beautifully executed and appealing."—School Library Journal

Wasn't what I expected, there are no words, unlike the other Donald Crews books we have.
That said, make some up if you need. My 2 year old likes it enough, but it is not in heavy rotation like the others.

Although this wordless book appears simplistic, toddlers will find lots to look at and discuss. The storyline depicts the transportation of cargo (tricycles) across the country. Scenes include the city, the highway, tunnels, rain, the countryside, a bridge, a gas station, and more. Personally, I always wince a bit when my child chooses this book off the shelf, because I do find it quite dull to read compared to some others. But he loves it, which is what's important.

I took off one star because our copy has a duplicate page. There is one part of the book where you turn the page and the next spread is IDENTICAL to the one before. I can only assume that this is a manufacturing error. I'm not sure if we just got an extra copy of that spread, or if there was something different that was supposed to be there instead.

We bought this book when my son, now 4, was 2. There are no words. The book, with clean, stark graphics, simply traces a big rig from pick up to delivery, with its load of tricycles. We have this and "Freight Train" and they are both stalwart favorites.

We have another book by Donald Crews that my 9 month old son loves Freight Train Big Book (Mulberry Big Book) so I thought I'd try this one to add a little variety to our story time. I was disappointed when it arrived as it doesn't actually contain a story. There are bright pictures of trucks, truck stations, and streets. Some of the pages do have words like "Trucking"or street signs but there really isn't a story here, it's all pictures. The pictures are bold and bright but somewhat abstract. However my son seems to love flipping the pages and seeing all the colors. If you're looking for a story to read to your little one this book is not for you. But if he/she likes picture books this is great.

My first son loved this book when he was young. It is well designed and has no written words, so we get to tell the story our selves. Now that he is 5 years old, it is great for him to "read" to his newborn brother. Great also for grandparents who have trouble reading in low light.

A favorite toddler picture book. I have owned and shared many copies of Donald Crews' stories in my preschool classroom and as gifts to young families.

My grandchildren create language and meaning each time we read this book together. There are so many skills you can work on. A fabulous purchase.
This book has no words, but my son and husband love making up a story every time they read it. The pictures are fun and tell a story of their own if you really pay attention.
