Little Miss Classic Library. By (author) Roger Hargreaves. It all started with a tickle. In response, Roger drew a small orange man with extraordinarily long arms that could reach anywhere and tickle anyone. Mr Tickle, the first of the Mr Men, was born. Roger went on to create many more Mr Men and Little Miss characters. What Roger really wanted was to make children laugh. Mr Silly was his favourite Mr Men story and, according to his family, encapsulates his humour most closely.

I love this series but her shyness is more of an anxiety disorder and a bit disturbing reading it as an adult. I think for children they dont understand the severity of issues like this so it comes of as what shy could mean in an exasperated way. I think shyness could have been explained in a simpler story. The poor Little Miss Shy hides under her kitchen table the entire day when the postman delivers a letter. Wow someone needs xanax! My daughter was meh with this one. We will see if she wants me to read it to her again tonight.

When visiting my husband's family across the pond years ago Louisa always brought us this book to be read at bedtime. A friend's granddaughter was having a mild bout of shyness and I thought immediately of how Louisa loved this book. I purchased a copy for her and she loved it.

Very Cute ook - small book

Not exactly what I had in mind, but it's a cute story nonetheless. I think it could have ended better, a little flat and not at all understandable to a 6 year old.

My grandaughter LOVES these books... VERY good teaching tools! I have bought almost every one and will keep buying them!
I had hoped this book would provide a story with a "happy ending" and context for overcoming shyness in some way. Instead it fed fears and provides a rather sad ending. When we finished reading the book my almost 5 yr old son threw it across the room and declared it was sad. He said he didn't want to read it again.
