Miroslav Sasek has produced a most charmingly illustrated 'This is London' which, first published in 1959, proved exceedingly popular and has now been updated with an additional page of notes that bring the book into the 21st century. Apparently a holiday in Paris inspired Miroslave Sasek to write and illustrate children's travel guides to the big cities of the world. He began with 'This is Paris' and followed it up with 'This is London' and the series developed from there.
Now, more than fifty years later, those same readers are passing these stories down to their children and their children's children, and Sasek's This is series has officially reached iconic status. Collected here for the first time in one affordable volume are some of Sasek's most beloved adventures.
