This book is one of our all-time favorites. My son used to take it out of the library over and over. Finally, for his 20th birthday, I was able to find a copy and give it to him. Now his own kids enjoy it too!
The drawings are amusing, and realistic, and add to the humor. The story line is really funny, as the boy tries to hide the hippo from his parents- (and seems to get away with it) in the tub, under the table, etc.
A great book which never talks down to kids, and makes everyone laugh.I was thrilled to find it still in print.
