My 6 year old and 3 1/2 year old love this story. They got it for Easter last year, and we have read it many times. They love to see the silly places the goose chooses for her nest. The illustrations are appealing-a nice Easter basket story! 0.

We love this book. We actually kept checking it out from the library for our 2 year old and finally I just found it on Amazon.

When I read it with my daughter I like to add to the text as I read for each place the goose tries to sleep - for example, the book has the goose finding a bed but it's the cat's bed. The book just reads, "Silly little goose!" And I add "You can't sleep there! That's where the kitty sleeps!" I do this for each animal bed the goose tries to sleep in.

Cute story!

This book was a Father's Day gift for my dad (my son's grandpa), who calls my kiddo his "silly little goose". The story is touching and very cute, and the pictures are well illustrated. I mainly ordered the book because of the name, but was very pleased when it had a great little story to go along with it.

My son is 2 years old, and really enjoys the story. I think he'll like it even more when he's just a tad bigger (closer to 3?) and more ready for "big kid books".

My toddler son is obsessed with Silly Little Goose and we can't let him play with the library copy. I got this book for him because I thought a board book would be perfect. Unfortunately, this edition is abridged and they completely cut out his favorite part with the kittens. It is such a short story anyways, why abridge it? I gave this product 2 stars instead of 1 because I read this book maybe 30 times a day so I feel somewhat conflicted about the shorter length. I do wish it had been clear in the description this is not the "real" silly little goose. Just be aware!

My daughter loved this book when we got it from the library so I decided to buy her a copy. I was happy that it came in a board book version so she can take it into nap time with her. I was a bit disappointed that the board version lost a couple pages compared to the paper version - the first page of the paper version is a double page image of the entire farm which was a lot of fun to go through everything with my daughter; there is also one animal missing from the interior pages but that is not noticeable when reading the book.

This is a stiff board book version, so it is missing some content found in the normal paper page version,... This lack of content wasn't mentioned in product details.

That being said, it's a lovely story & well-liked

Haha I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend because I call her a silly goose and it is the job it's actually a good book and it's good quality book buy buy buy!

There are only a few lines for every two-page spread, so this one is perfect for babies and toddlers.

Even the little ones can join in the game of looking for the blown-away hat in every picture (and since the hat is the goose's final destination you're helping them learn some narrative convention, too!)

However, because this book is really best suited for the smallest children, it may be a good idea to just get the board book version instead. It's the same book, not abridged or anything.
We were given this book by our doctor after a check-up - I figured it was just a nice treat for the kids and they'd push it aside. WRONG! It turned out to be their FAVORITE book for over a year. It got so worn I bought the hardcover copy and we still read it on most days.

There are pictures of all different animals, so if your kids are learning to make animal sounds, it's fun for them to point at the different animals and tell you what they say.
