The Story of Christmas book. Vivian French was best known in school for being extremely skinny and for talking a lot. At school she developed an attachment to words and later became an actor, then a storyteller, and finally a writer of children's books. She is the author of more than two hundred books. Ms. French lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has four grown daughters. Books by Vivian French.

It starts with God sending the Angel Gabriel to Nazareth to speak to Mary, then Joseph. It explains clearly why they had to go to Bethlehem, what happened when they got there, going on to angels appearing to very ordinary looking shepherds in the fields.

  • Karg
I loved this little book. It is simple enough for the pre-K Sunday School class to understand but still captures the attention of our 4th grade class as well. It is well written and wonderfully illustrated. I was looking for a new book instead of rereading the same ones every year, and I am very pleased with this selection!
  • Winasana
