The best time of Machiko Naguchi's life came in the wake of the Ryushi colony massacre. It was then that she abandoned her human heritage and ran with the Predators as a dedicated Hunter. But it was only two years before she returned to live with humanity and work for the Chigusa Corporation,Livermore Evanston is an ambitious developer who has built the ultimate hunter's paradise: a world just beyond the reach of human regulations, populated by ferociousm genetically engineered animals. But Evanston didn't plan on being patronized by the galaxy's most ruthless Predators--or the Aliens they brought along as prey. As his human customers fall victim to the unsceduled hunt, Evanston realizes that the Predators must be curbed, and there's only one woman for the job. But there's even more to this world than meets the eye, and Machiko Naguchi may only have one way out: to take complete control of the deadliest planet in known space!

Its true what they say, the first one is always the best one. This book wasn't bad at all, but I was disappointed. In AvP: Prey(book 1) the authors give you a point of view on the Predators side. Here, it's not the case. It kinda goes back to the movies and only shows you or lets you know what the humans are doing, thinking, etc. There were a few small details in this book that I liked, and thought that was kool. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to know what happens to Noguchi after reading book 1.

I've read the three novels in this trilogy but take issue with continuity. Hunter's Planet should be the last one you read!!! Why? Machiko Naguchi kills "Shorty" twice. Huh? Please believe me and read Hunter's last. You'll get more out of the story threads and development. Being a surviver, Machiko spends some time with the "Pack" as she dedicates herself to the Hunt. Dark Horse doesn't usually make mistakes as becomes so obvious in these 2 & 3 novels. So, read "War" after "Prey"and then, and ONLY then, read "Hunter's Planet. I believe you'll enjoy all three if you manage to "think Sanaa Lathan, pronounced Sa-NAA, "like Sinatra without the tra" as Machiko. Maybe I'll wander over to the DVD's and "Review" the AVP. Enjoy, it's just entertainment, right?

I like these books and this ending of the asian manager adventure with predators for its continuous moving forward with killing the aliens as well as revenge on some for their treatment of the humans. Wish the movie had placed noguchi in the different planets.

Machiko Naguchi, once again working for the Company, has been asked to help with a little problem. It seems a planet, one used for big game hunting, has developed a tiny problem. The hunters are being killed by Aliens, the bug kind. Now Livermore Evanston, the owner of the world, wants Machiko, the one woman who knows how to handle them, to handle them.

But things are never as simple as they seem. For one thing, the human hunters are not the ONLY hunters who enjoy the big game on the planet.

And other problem seems to be the alien drones have been upgraded. As in thumbs, eyes and brains.

What's going on?

A great book, but for the fact that the Predators think of themselves as PREDATORS, instead of warriors, hunters or yautja. The terms, in other words, don't fit those used in the first book and force the reader to remember that he is reading a book and not listening in on the thoughts of the alien hunters.

I enjoyed reading this book. I bought the series of 3 for a read during my vacation and had fun doing it.
Easy to read, plot intact. Of course, I am a science fiction / fantasy buff, and this book
was a fun, quick, enjoyable getaway.

this is written for this whole series of books. The characters are fascinating, the plot surprisingly intense & overall this is a brilliant read, Highly recommend it.

Very good!
Not good. Prey and War are terrific but this is a straight-up stinker. Beyond the numerous, obvious and poorly done Jurassic Park ripoffs, the writing is stilted and in some spots doesn't even make sense. I've never seen a mass market paperback with this many spelling errors and editing oversights. I managed to finish the book but then it went straight into the trash; no shelf space to spare for a book that isn't worth a second read and really wasn't even worth reading once. I love the Predator mythology, but this book made a mess of great source material.
