The first half of this book consists of the recollections of Dr Charles Crenshaw, one of the trauma team on duty at Parkland Hospital over that momentous weekend in Dallas

Charles A. Crenshaw, J. Gary Shaw. Anyone serious about the truth of the assassination of JFK will find this book riveting. It is offered as first hand experience from the only unbiased source, those who saw and treated JFK within 5 minutes of being shot. These folks could NOT have been poisoned by hear say stories and misguided information. They virtually were insulated from all of this and their impressions are the only real and true evidence.

Then in 1990, one of the Dallas surgeons who worked on JFK in Trauma Room One, Dr. Charles Crenshaw, decided after much deliberation that the American people ought to know the truth. In the aftermath, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) called Crenshaw's book "a fabrication. In the process, a number of new medical disclosures and discoveries have emerged on the startling medical cover-up of the JFK assassination.

Great inside look from a surgeon who was in Trauma Room One when President Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald were shot. The author tells the story of these events as they actually happened, not what the official spin is. Eye opening account of a horrible event in our country's history and of the continued disclosures/cover-up that continue today.

If you want to know what things looked like from the inside,
at Parkland Hospital, this is the book. Dr. Crenshaw, a citizen of Texas,
does the good citizen's of Texas proud by telling all he saw of this
God Awfull conspiracy; right down to the phone call Dr. Crenshaw took, in the ER from LBJ,
asking him to get a death bed confession from Lee Oswald. It's too bad that the
people of the United States cannot view the insane final confessions to all the
killings that LBJ made to his doctor, hidden behind Dr / patient confidentiality.

Worth reading and I am grateful that this doctor decided to finally tell the truth about what was encountered by the doctors in the Emergency Room at Parkland hospital that day.

This is the story of a young doctor who was working long hours at the trauma center at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He saw all the pain and fear associated with violence and death on a daily basis.

On Friday, November 22, 1963 Dr. Charles Crenshaw became part of American history when the fatally wounded president Kennedy was brought to Parkland. Two days later the president's alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald was also fatally shot and also arrived at Parkland.

The atmosphere at Parkland Hospital surrounding these two murders with the Secret Service agents, the removal of JFK's body almost immediately, and the phone call from Lyndon Johnson while Lee Oswald lay dying caused the doctors to realize even then that something was horribly wrong.

Dr. Crenshaw felt an unspoken but menacing compulsion to remain silent about everything he saw and experienced during that strangest of weekends at Parkland Hospital. All of these doctors feared losing not only their medical careers but their very lives if they spoke out about what really happened. Finally after many years when he realized that the truth about JFK's gunshot wounds had been concealed by the government Dr. Crenshaw broke his silence and wrote a book about it.

From day one there have always been people who realized that the official version of events about the JFK assassination is an absurd fairy tale. Jim Garrison realized it from a legal and criminal perspective. Fletcher Prouty realized it from an intelligence and military perspective. And Dr. Crenshaw realized it from a medical perspective.

Probably the two greatest sources of suspicion about the JFK assassination are Lee Oswald's murder and the president's autopsy. These two events are typical of the JFK assassination which is rife with events that seem to almost make sense at a superficial level but yet they really don't make sense for anyone who has taken the time to look into it.

What doesn't make sense about JFK's autopsy is any criminal who had been gunned down in some dark alleyway would have received a more thorough and professional autopsy than what the president of the United States received. As usual with the JFK assassination the government always has explanations for why everything went wrong. But yet the end result is always the same. Loose ends were not resolved. People were not spoken to. 'Mistakes' were made. Evidence was 'misplaced'. Witness statements do not match up with the official evidence.

The Warren Commission was directly affected by JFK's fake autopsy. These autopsy results lead to their so called magic bullet theory. In fact the Warren Commission was a continuation and extension of the autopsy. Like the autopsy the Warren Commission had one goal which was to show that Lee Oswald shot JFK.

Then there was the HSCA hearings which was about one step removed from the Warren Commission. It was the same thing again with people lying and focusing on unimportant issues while ignoring the very questions they were supposed to be trying to answer.

At this point I don't think there's any question that this was all a massive cover up. The question now is why was it covered up and why is it still being covered up.

This book does a great job of breaking a very complicated situation down to the essential questions. There are many complicated aspects to the medical cover up like the doctors at Bethesda were told to lie, the official autopsy photos don't match what the doctors at Parkland observed, and the Warren Commission and HSCA hearings were supposedly trying to figure out what happened but in reality they were trying to hide what happened.

I highly recommend the documentary series 'The Men Who Killed Kennedy'. A photographic expert who appears in this series shows how JFK's autopsy photos were manipulated using mortician's wax. This matches up with the testimony of FBI agents who saw JFK's body at Bethesda and who said the autopsy photos were 'doctored up'.

Dr. Crenshaw authored a newer book called 'JFK Has Been Shot'. I haven't read this book so I don't know if it's just a new edition of this one or something different.

This book contains some strong criticisms of author Gerald Posner who is a believer in Oswald's guilt.

Like everyone in my generation, I remember well the day JFK was shot...and I remember seeing Jack Ruby shoot Oswald right in front of the TV camera. Dr. Crenshaw in this book gives a very professional and heartfelt account of that day in Dallas from his perspective as a trauma surgeon unexpectedly called upon to help save the life of the President of the United States. Every word he says has the ring of truth to it. As the years have gone by since, I believe the majority of Americans now realize that there was a conspiracy to kill the President. But as the major participants die off, the public will most probably never know the truth behind this murder. Unfortunately, our own government is not known for telling the truth about anything...Bless you Dr. Crenshaw for writing this book.

Dr. Crenshaw lays out the medical facts about what he personally witnessed at Parkland about both JFK and Oswald. He also discusses the 'autopsy' done at Bethesda and provides in depth discrepancies between the medical evidence.

So why 4 stars instead of 5? He goes into almost a minute by minute timetable of his experiences over that weekend. Some of the recollection was about what he did while away from the hospital (he went home & tried to sleep, etc) is his biography of his overall life. Which I personally wasn't interested in.

I have read and heard that some of the other doctors dispute what he says and have attempted to demean him, but based on my overall knowledge of the facts of that weekend, he speaks the truth. There is plenty of corroborating evidence, especially the contemporaneous accounts of what was reported that fully backup the words in his book.

Some of the other Parkland doctors are apologists for the Warren Commission Report and I find THEM to be telling a false narrative, not Dr. Crenshaw. Someone who finally decided to speak the truth after years of professional threats and intimidation.

Great book and I HIGHLY recommend you read this. There is a lot of important detail which has not been previously discussed. I've read hundreds of books on the assasination and learned things I didn't know.
