Undying Love: The True S. .has been added to your Cart. I saw an episode of a TV show called Haunted History. One of the stories was about this woman named Elena who dies, and a doctor who is obsessed with her ends up stealing her body from the cemetary, rebuilds the skin using wax, and kept the body for 7 years without being discovered. I was shocked to learn that was a true story. I could not beleive that someone could be that insane. After getting the book about this story and reading it, I realized there was much more than meets the eye.

I was overcome with curiosity after listening to the authors interview about this story on NPR. What an amazing and controversial story! The author put a lot of archival research into it, and gave a good cultural and historical backgrounds for the time in Key West it took place.

Having been to the keys I was intrigued by this bizarre eerie love story. I liked the authors style and faithfulness to the events. Pictures were both fascinating and macabre. It is not a story for everyone, especially the squeamish. Yes life can be stranger than fiction! If you enjoy the macabre you will love this book.

What a fascinating story, that fact that it is non-fiction just makes it more incredible. I enjoyed the details about Key West history at that time, as well as Key West history. I wish there had been more pictures of all the players in the story. I would recommend this book as a quick and interesting read. You can't invent a story this amazing.

Creepy story. Unique. I kept wanting NOT to read it but then I had to anyway. Sometimes a little drawn out with too much detail but over all a fascinating account of this man and his unusual obsession. I have to admit I am glad I read it but I might not admit to my friends that I was interested in a book like this. If you like creepy and unusual reality give this book a go.

An odd, surreal tale, nicely told by Mr. Harrison. He is able to flesh out the characters and give us a good idea how Key West was in the Thirties. I really liked the story and even though the "ick" factor might stop you from reading the book, it's quite good. Even sweet!

Funky, yet interesting story. I got it because I had heard the story and wanted more info. Was it good? Not really. But an Atlas Obscura kind of fascination hooked me in the beginning.
This book contains a very interesting story form the history of key west Florida
