But most of the books I read seemed to me analytical and argumentative, reinventing new labels of analysis. And I felt that they didn't have the power to really describe what happened at the personal level, which is where I think we really learn about race across the divisions that we have. And so I really resolved from some lessons out of my experience that I wanted to try to keep it at a storytelling level and follow the stories wherever they went.

I bought this book because I am obsessed with England and wanted a coffee table book that portrayed that. Above all this is a photographic book, that lets the reader make the judgements. The photos of these breathtaking places are all we need for the photographer's selection criteria. The photographs in this book are gorgeous, exemplifying the beauty of England and the villages within.

This is a great book for anyone who enjoyed the history of colonial America, or any student studying American history. It is well written by a respected Jamestown expert who has also authored some journal articles on various subjects of Jamestown

This is a great book for anyone who enjoyed the history of colonial America, or any student studying American history. It is well written by a respected Jamestown expert who has also authored some journal articles on various subjects of Jamestown. Jamestown was founded in 1606, but since the original colony was located by an archeological dig in the mid 1990's we are learning so many new things about the colony and its people.
