I've had it on my shelves for a number of years now and have referred to it often. The book itself runs to more than 700 pages, and there are about a thousand and a half entries. This is not an in-depth study of the figures of church history, but most of the entries present a really nice first overview of the most important figures

I've rarely been disappointed in a search of this book when I'm trying to find something out about a figure I haven't encountered before.
