truly a unique gift, perfect for the doll collector and the ex girl scout. some of the dolls date back 100 years and of course the uniforms/costumes are historically accurate. it seems to be a comprehensive review of commercial and limited edition items. the drab color cover does not do justice to the photos inside. book arrived quickly and in excellent condition.

This book provides an excellent overview and clear color images of all the girl scout dolls that have been produced over the years. However as a pricing guide it is extremely inaccurate. The book does NOT give price ranges for the collectible, it just states this item is worth $X. The book does not differentiate between the conditions of the collectible. In addition I found that the prices that they do list across the board are flawed. Some items are valued way above what they actually sell for and others well below what they actually fetch. As a pricing guide this book is harmful for a novice.

I have had this book for some time now, and find it extremely enjoyable. The amazing pictures and variety of the dolls available for Girl Scouts (as well as a few Campfire and Blue Birds!) are adorable. The descriptions are clear and thorough. A must for any Girl Scout collector and doll lover.

This is a comprehensive book about Girl Scout dolls that even has sections on paper dolls, stuffed animals, figurines and pins, all relating to the Girl Scouts organization. Included are doll sections on Camp Fire Girls and Blue Birds, International Girls Guides, as well as Girl Scout doll clothing. Even though I bought this book because I thought it was about looking ("scouting") for old dolls, and I don't really have a special interest in Girl Scout dolls, I found it interesting. It includes a history of the Girls Scouts and many beautiful photographs of different manufacturer's Girl Scout dedicated dolls and products from 1917 to 2002 with current values.
