This is a must have for anyone who wants to create professional results when sewing at home. I had this volume earlier and lent it to someone who wanted to use it for some tips on a project she was working on. Unfortunately, we lost track of each other (I was an Instructor in Sewing Techniques at the time) and decided to replace the book in my library because the tips and methods give a lot of insight on how to create a professional product. The book was received as scheduled and was additionally in better condition than I expected for a used book (even had the original jacket in great condition). I will definitely buy from this seller again!!

This is an older book that describes how to use a sewing machine with limited stitches to create beautiful detailed clothing based on hand sewing heirloom or fancy sewing. It presents a very clear alternative to Martha Pullen for adding subtle touches to everyday clothing where as Dr. Pullen is focused on infant and children's clothing. One can create small touches that elevate home sewing.

I borrowed the hardback version from the library and decided I must have it for my shelf. It came today and I'm still so pleased with the book. If you want a great resource book, as well as something to spark creative ideas--for new and seasoned sewers alike--GET THIS BOOK!

Well-written guidance for every little nuance. I love this guide!
Only on Page 13, and I've already learned 3 important sewing techniques. Wonderful instructions and sidebar advice.
I highly recommend this book for both beginners and older sewers (me included) who are rediscovering the enjoyment of sewing machines.
