Not really as described. While it purports to describe caring for old molding and plaster, it's in fact a long screed on the benefit of the secretary of the interiors guidelines for historic preservation. This is not really all that useful, to my mind, for anyone who has read them.

I was hoping for concrete information, aimed at the professional, given that it purports to be a whole book on a very specific thing. There is almost no information suitable for a professional in here. It's more aimed at a homeowner who is looking for what, to my mind, is basic background information. If you have no need to know what the orders are, or what 3 coat plaster is, then this book is not for you.

If you are very interested in old houses, but have a very basic knowledge level, and can handle a bit too much of the obvious, you might find this useful.
