South African law of lease. Every human being, for the purposes of South African law, is recognised as a person, but not every legal person is a human being. The distinction is best understood with reference to the two classes of person recognised by the law: namely, natural and juristic. Only these two have legal personality. In South Africa when a person disappears and there is no evidence either way as to whether or not he is still alive. There is no corpse in respect of which a doctor can issue a death certificate, and no-one who can testify that the person is actually dead.
