Midnight Fantasy by Ann Major. Published by Thriftbooks. com User, 18 years ago. I loved this book, could not put it down. I thought the story idea was great, doesn't every woman want to be carried off by a hunk of a guy who rides a motorcycle and turns out to be a rich business man at the end of the dream. I have read every one of Ann's books and I thought this one was the best she has written.

Claire Woods was completely alluring-and out of Tag Campbell's reach. But when she needed him, he saved her.

Claire Woods was completely alluring—and out of Tag Campbell's reach. But when she needed him, he saved her. She touched raw places inside him, making him ache and crave things he'd thought he'd given up. What would it be like to have her waiting…every night…for him? Tag Campbell haunted her. Like a pirate in tight denim, he captured her and declared his love in heated whispers. Claire had to make the decision of a lifetime—a quiet role in proper society or a wild, loving adventure with a man who was so wrong…but oh, so right.

Apart from the fact that the main 'heroine' literally talks outloud to herself (And then answers aloud), in their initial meeting the 'hero' saves her from two would-be rapists and then proceeds to bathe her and put her naked in his bed once she faints (creepy!). Oh, and the heroine has an imaginary lover named 'Loverboy' who's existence ensures she comes across as pathetic to readers.

This book is FULL of 'huh?' moments and phrases (the above is just the tip of the iceberg). Not a pleasant reading experience.

I wish I had seen the previous review before I purchased this book. The plot starts as implausible and quickly becomes ridiculous. Coupled with the cliched writing, this is one of the worst romance novels I have ever read.
I have read other Ann Major books and expected much more. Come on Ann, what happened?

Ann Major has done it again. While Nobody's Child is still my favorite, this book was terrific. The characters were textured, the settings described in rich detail, and the plot was breathtaking. Thanks and keep it up Ann!
