Home Linda Howard Up Close and Dangerous. Up close and dangerous, . Wrapping another around her wet hair, she stepped out and picked up the cordless phone in the dressing room, looked at the Caller ID, and set the unit back down without answering. The number had been blocked; she had registered all her numbers on the national do-not-call list, so the blocked number wasn’t likely to be a telemarketer. That meant Seth was probably up bright and early thinking of insults he could use, and she refused to deal with him before she had her coffee.

I loved all the detailed survival stuff in the book, and making the woman the hero of the plane crash was a good twist. I loved the insight into the hero's mind as he realizes he's misjudged her and is determined to get to know her better and more intimately. I found the twist at the end about what really caused the plane crash a good one.

Justice was asleep, and though she thought she was supposed to keep him awake, because of the head injury, she also thought sleep might be the best thing for him.

shaking and shuddering. She felt better, herself. Her feet were still cold, but overall she was much warmer-though she did miss the down vest that was now covering Justice

Up Close and Dangerous gets so many 3-star reviews and I have to say I don't agree. I give this book 5 stars. I love Linda Howard, and sure I loe some books more than others, but there was nothing wrong with this book to deserve 5 stars. The secondary characters of the secretary and the no-good son who buckled down to life were great add-ons. As for the advice to wait for the paperback - I bought this one in hardback as soon as I could.

I love Howard’s strong characters. The falling in love is fast but as they surmised they were on the equivalent of their 19th date so I guess understandable. I enjoyed the descriptions of how they survived a plane crash in the mountains and walked out. Surprising ending with a twist.

I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this story as much as I do other books by Linda Howard. However, once I got past to initial set up of plot and characters I was hooked.
Some very interesting plot twists and an ending I would really like to follow up on...maybe another novel with these characters...

I enjoyed this book and can't understand the low reviews. A good suspence/mystery with a interesting twist. The main characters are well developed, neither is a whiner. The author also did her research on crashes, high altitude survival and emergency medical. I would recommend ignoring most of the reviews and giving this book a try. It's different, but in a good way.

What a ride! I'm breathless from reading this book! It's a wild ride, full of so many twists my heart could hardly keep up. This is one of Miss Howard's best. I want to kiss the hero and beat up the villains myself!

This is a story that is hard to put down as are most of Linda Howard's books. She makes you feel you are part of the story (or want to be!)

I read it twice. All the other reviews are accurate, this isn't the perfect Linda Howard sex & suspense. But it made up for it in fun and for me, interesting ways one adapts to survival.
I hadn't read very far and realized I read it before, i.e., the plane crash. I went ahead and finished it because I forgot some of the things. It has an interesting plot.
