A good western to read in a couple days.
  • caif
The story took in area I have visited many time and came to appreciate its beauty and history. Zane Grey has a great story-telling ability, but a bit verbose on the details.
  • Naril
Tough reading at times with the cowboy twang as envisioned by the author. A different read but contains cowboys, desperadoes and harsh western conditions by our stds.
  • Nilasida
This story is one of the better ones from Zane Grey, a full length story seems to be a rarity but, done well, this is a real western story at its best.
  • Manris
Loved reading this as a teen in the 60s, now in my 60s I still enjoy picking up the Molly and Jim story from Drift Fence. Grey does a great job developing characters, uses colloquial language, portrays the contrast of the fun loving prankster cowboys with their violent gunslinger lifestyle. The description of the Azizona territory is lovely..I want to visit.
  • Steel balls
Jed Stone's true character never left, it just got buried in the reality of decisions made and a life unfolding.....until a push came from a fearless Easterner and the outfit was faced with going over the edge without a chance of redemption or making a clean break of their lawless nature.

Men, women and going west, Jim finds love, helps sister, builds charactor and a ranch and punches cows. Good read.
It's Zane Grey. What more can be said!
