Harley's Little Black Book is a series of vaguely connected one shots that see Harley interacting with various major characters from across the DC Universe. Crossing over with Lobo, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, Zatanna, and even the Bombshells Universe, the series serves a major feature on Harley's exploding popularity over the last few years. Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti's "Harley's Little Black Book" pairs Harley Quinn up with various other characters in the DC Universe for a series of zany tales drawn from the larger DC continuity.

Shoeless Joe is a 1982 magic realist novel by Canadian author W. P. Kinsella which became better known due to its 1989 film adaptation, Field of Dreams. The book was written when Kinsella attended the Iowa Writers' Workshop, and decided to incorporate the stories he told about the Black Sox Scandal, imagining if Shoeless Joe Jackson came back to the same city Kinsella was living in, Iowa City.

Writer-producer Terry Chase Chenowith and his production banner Back Fence Productions have snagged film rights to Joe H. Harless novel Black Warrior’s Curse. Both are changed by the riots and church bombings in Birmingham, Bloody Sunday in Selma and Martin Luther King’s I have a dream speech at the Lincoln Memorial.

Connected in a way unknown to themselves, a young white man and an African American of the same age live in a small town on the Black Warrior River in Alabama. It is the site where DeSoto massacred seven thousand Choctaws and their dying leader, Tuskalusa, cursed "all men-of-no-color" who would live on the river. The two become entangled in the bloody struggle for civil rights in the 1960s. Each is changed by the horror of the Birmingham riots and bombings, "Bloody Sunday," and the freedom rides. Each is influenced by men as disparate as "Bear" Bryant, Martin Luther King, George Wallace, Malcolm X, and a Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan. Each is shaped and given strength by the women in their lives. In the dramatic climax, the two learn how and why they are connected.

I was in Tuscaloosa at the time this book was set. It is an accurate description of the situation at that time. The story itself was great and I highly recommend it.

This is a wonderful book. I could not put it down. The book provides a compelling view of the civil rights movement coupled with an engaging personal story.

This book is factual yet is entertaining. It has the ability to tell the young people of today about history in a way that holds their interest. It was a good review for me and I am so pleased that it can be educational for those who were too young to know what actually went on.
