Newton sees his father as scary and spends his life wondering how some criss-crossed string can be described as a cat or a cradle, when clearly it looks like neither. I’ve read four Vonnegut books, and for me, Cat’s Cradle is second to Slaughterhouse-Five but better than Galapagos and Hocus Pocus. I liked the themes of the clash between science and religion, and the silliness of religion in general.
