Theodore "Ted" Deppe (born in Duluth, Minnesota) is an American poet and professor, author of four books of poetry. He is Director of the Stonecoast MFA Program in Creative Writing’s Stonecoast in Ireland program.

Poet, teacher, and nurse Theodore Deppe was born in Duluth, Minnesota, and grew up in Bloomington, Indiana. His poetry collections include the chapbook Necessary Journeys (1988) and the full-length collections Children of the Air (1990), The Wanderer King (1996), Cape Clear: New & Selected Poems (2002), and Orpheus on the Red Line(2009). Deppe has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.

By announcing the act, the burning of the boy, before we see the burns, it makes that image less necessary. By announcing his refusal to hand over the tissues, the boy's getting them loses force. The ending leans too much on Williams's story, 'The Use Of Force'.
