This is a work of fiction. Sis Boom Bah is a work of fiction and, therefore, its characters and the situations in which they find themselves are entirely my creations. Its setting, on the other hand, is in and around Stuart, Florida, where I lived, and many of the places mentioned in the novel are those that I frequented and enjoyed.

Sis Boom Bah. 386 printed pages. If you ever wanted to kill your sister, this is the novel for yo. elightful. With the snappy style her readers have come to expect, Heller (Princess Charming; Crystal Clear) presents another breezy tale of modern women. Soap opera writer Deborah Peltz can handle any kind of drama, so long as its not attached to her sister Sharon.

Jane Heller writes a funny, light-hearted story about two sisters who've never gotten along, dealing with their ailing mother and several up and down love interests, plus a couple of murders. I found it fast paced and entertaining.

In the uproarious Sis Boom Bah, Jane Heller captures the true essence of sisterhood-the exasperation and the affection. Having a sister means "always" having to say you're sorry! That's the motto of this outrageously witty novel about two sisters whose sibling rivalry knows no bounds.

What can make sisters stop talking to each other for years? If it's the Peltz sisters, just about anything can touch off an estrangement! In fact, the latest spat between Deborah, a soap opera writer in New York, and Sharon, a wedding planner in Boca Raton, has lasted two years. But when their mother has a heart attack, the sisters rally around her and promise to behave themselves. The only glitch in their peace pact is Mom's doctor. He's single, good-looking, wealthy... and coming on to both sisters. And when someone bumps off this cad of a cardiologist, Deborah and Sharon are prime suspects....

It was a fun read, but it might have been fun to hear from Sharon's point of view too. The focus was too one-sided, making one sister the bad guy. Trust me, as a woman with a sister, squabbles were seldom one person's fault.

But it was an amusing read with a great ending!

Jane Heller is my new favorite author! This book was just TOO funny.
The story takes place near Boca Raton, Fl where I have had the pleasure to visit. I kept picturing "Del Boca Vista's" from Seinfield for the atmosphere. Two sisters (one from NY) are reunited after several estranged years to take care of their sick mother. Needless to say, the two sisters have not had the best relationship and can't stand each other. IE - At first when they see each other, one sister compliments the other's dress as looking like a tablecloth.
Both sisters are in competition for a handsome and charming doctor, and when they both find him dead in his house - they are suspects in his murder. The sisters are bound and determined to clear their name and find the true killer.
Heller lives up to her style of writing which will have a little bit of something for all readers. Laughing, mystery..and just when you think you've figured out what's going on, the plot thickens...

Sibling rivalry at its best in this book. Jane Heller's sense of humor is ridiculously funny and her expressions are LOL.
So what if it is a little far fetched? The local info is interesting and well researched. If you live in the area you'll recognize some of the places mentioned. You can't go wrong with this book. If you want to read more about Boca life, try From One Place to Another.

Fun and fast paced, Heller does it again with her wacky characters that you can relate to. There is the perfect mix of mystery and romance in her books. Never overdone. I have read 5 of her books and have never been disappointed. Nothing too heavy or gruesome. Just fun who-done-its.
