Thousands of entries make this book a valuable, pocket-sized reference guide. More than 60,000 surgical terms are spelled out and arranged alphabetically for quick retrieval. More than 275 important categories--such as anesthetics, positions, sutures, procedures, prostheses, abraders--have extensive sublistings that are fully cross referenced. Eponymic names are fully covered, and potentially confusing terms--Trendelenburg position, Bateman prosthesis, and so forth--are cross referenced.

This is a good book by Claudia. I am a medical transcriptionist and need many reference books. This is a book that I would recommend for anyone looking for a surgical word book.

The book that I have currently is dated copyright 1991. I received the book in 1992. I have been a med. transcriptionist for 15 years and am always learning new things. This book really needs to be updated more often. Personally, I think the book should be updated every two years.

I PREFER A SYLLABUS FOR THE SURGEON'S SECRETARY WHICH I HAVE USED SINCE 1995. IT REMAINS THE MOST THOROUGH REFERENCE

A ten year veteran, I found the Tessier book one of the most helpful in my employer's extensive library. Rarely disappointed in my search for surgical terms or equipment names.

This book has really help with terminology. I had difficulty figuring out how to look things up when I figured out how they had it sorted it was easiler. I still find the doctors dictate words that are not in this book.
Rare and very useful.
