Remembering Ronnie Barker is quite obviously written by a fan in Richard Webber. I have read other works by him and he is very respectful of his subject but I feel he needs to edit just a little. Detail is great but to much is actually a bit boring. However, I guess when it is someone so loved and respected with barely a bad word spoken of him, you probably do not have much of a choice. Not a hard read, in fact quite enjoyable but very little not already known in it.

This book was disappointing in that it was more a catalogue of what Ronnie had done than a book about him. Too much time was spent on his early years in show business and I got bored at the halfway point. I finished the book by skimming over a lot of pages. If I had known what it was like I would not have bothered buying it.
