Ernest Hemingway Rediscovered book. The text, recounting Hemingway's life and times between 1939 and 1960, is a remembrance by Norberto Fuentes, who was Hemingway's good friend during that period. In the book's vivid photographs, Ernest Hemingway's life was as romantic and exciting as anything in his novels and stories - and this magnificently illustrated large-format volume captures many of his best years.

Still other dramatic candid shots show Hemingway on movie sets with Spencer Tracy, Gary Cooper, and Ingrid Bergman.

No publication or review or word of mouth can exceed Norberto Fuentes's and photographer Roberto Herrera Sotolongo's, "Ernest Hemingway," for its shining text and radiant photographs which capture the utter realism of the present moment of Hemingway's final twenty years of life at home in Cuba.
I have only one objection to the book, a singular one-- why have the author, photographer and publisher failed to identify Hemingway's great personal friend, my father, former undefeated heavyweight boxing champion of the world, Gene Tunney, who arguably held the finest professional boxing record in history and who can be namelessly seen with Hemingway on pages 130, 134, 135, and 141.

I love this pictorial history of Ernest Hemingway. It start when he was still a relatively young man and then the majority of the pictures are of him as an older man with his wife and friends in various locals such as his house in Key West, His finca in Cuba, his boat, and Africa etc. It of course has small captions that explain the photos and more information that is highly informative.

This coffee table book utilizes wonderful pictures of Ernest Hemingway to show "Papa" is numerous lights. Most pictures center around Hemingway in his years at the Finca Vigia. We see candids of Hemingway aboard the Pilar, or at work in his standing position in his Finca's tower. There are a few questionable facts.(They said that Hemingway's pet "Blackdog" was found around the Finca, when most scholars say he was rescued in Idaho). Still, this book is a must simply for the pictures alone. Out of numerous biographies about Hemingway, Fuentes chooses woderful candids I had never seen, plus wonderful photos of Hemingway's personal possesions, and the Finca as it is today. A must for Hemingway buffs.
