I’d never heard that out-of-control note in LuEllen’s voice before, and it was deeply disturbing, the kind of disturbing you get when you think your heart has just stopped appen. We didn’t get caught. Not counting what she described as youthful experimentation at local department stores, LuEllen had been a professional thief for fifteen years, had worked five or six times a year during that time, sixty or seventy jobs, without ever taking a fall

John Sanford's stories are so entertaining and his characters so well written (Alex Delaware and Virgil Flowers) that he has become one of my favorite authors. His genre is crime with the action taking place in and around Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan and since I'm a Wisconsinite it makes the stories even more interesting. I grab his new releases as soon as they are available and search for any I may have missed. I really enjoy this author.

I really like the Kidd & LuEllen books & wish there were more of there were more, & more Lucas Davenport books. Now I am going to start of the Virgil Flowers books. John Sandford's stories are relaxing, fast paced, good characters & I love reading them after reading other authors. I get started on certain subjects or authors & stay with them. Then, get a little burned out & go back to Sandford books to know it is going to be a good book with very very few faults. This book was great & fast paced with lots of computer stuff that I found very interesting. The characters are easy to know & like. The political aspects of this book were great. I just wanted to have some say in what Kidd did with all that information!

Bought this book because I’m a huge fan of Sanford’s Lucas Davenport and spin off Virgil Flowers series. I’ve read every one of those books and they are all great. Decided to give the Kidd series
a try. Seems like it wasn’t even written by Sanford, and I found it boring and tedious. Only gave it a 3 because I like Sanford, it probably deserves a 2. Don’t recommend this book.

Good conclusion to the Kidd series of novels. Having already read all of the John Sanford Prey and Virgil Flowers novels, I was glad to find this earlier series of 4 novels by the same author and I enjoyed all 4 which have the same "Sandford-Style" of story line, plot, and character development. Since this series was written first in the late 1990's and early 2000's, you have to be ready for some archaic computer technology and techniques and the absence of cell phones; but the story line prevails and draws you in like later Sandford books.l Enjoyable read!

This is a very different novel from the others in the Kidd series. Use of Kidd's Tarot deck is minimal. Very little banter between Kidd and LuEllen. LuEllen plays a minor role, and leaves, or is sent away by Kidd several times.

The novel starts out with a very big surprise, and continues with many surprises and much suspense. It is a very good read.

The duo is at it again and this one is full of suspense, twists & turns. Being a full time painter would be oh so much safer. The Tarot leads them on a merry chase but in the end is more accurate than they thought. Buckle up - this one is a roller coaster ride.

To me, the best of the bunch. All are very readable and fun. Same with the PREY novels. Sandford has a nice feel for American dialogue, and his plots have enough plausibility to keep me going. Recommended.
Bobby is gone and so is his laptop, with the keys to the kingdom. With someone on the loose with it, information is a time bomb waiting to go off. It's up to Kidd and LuEllen to diffuse the bomb and potential fallout. Right storytelling with a solid plot. Read it. You'll love it.
