The Eclipse Phase RPG is a fresh take on the post-cyberpunk 'Transhumanism' concept. It's got some elements to rein in player's a bit as such settings tend to be too open, but the main game has great rules to allow players to adventure as various post-humans including artificial intelligences, evolved humans, and refugees uploaded from Earth.

Gatecrashers develops one setting element from the main book. The Pandora Gates are Stargate-style gates to other worlds that humanity is exploring in search of alien artifacts, colony worlds, and other exotics. This book provides a ton of detail on the gates and the cities that have been built up around them to support exploration, the controlling factions and their policies for each gate, and the worlds beyond. Characters who adventure beyond the gates are Gatecrashers, and new gear and skill uses are detailed to add detail to these expeditions.

I have been playing/collecting RPG's now for a good 24 years and rarely do I ever find myself pre-purchasing a product before I read a single review or get a personal glance through it; but I have bought the first printing, without hesitation, with every single Eclipse Phase product so far. Including this one. I simply do not have the words to praise this setting and its developers enough.

If you purchase this, you are buying a work of love, and it shows in every page.

I can not seem to put this update down. The story hooks presented in this book will give my gaming group many weekends with sleepless nights.

Bought it to enhance my traveller, gamma world.....with a dash of star wars....for reference and resources......reviews seemed good

bought as i started to read into it........it started to remind me of blade runner on a bad acid trip.....hey blade runners cool.
but come on....just the solar system.......

ok ok main point....nice shiny covers......excellent art.....but seems like a bad 60-70s space novel
not a great resource....or setting if your creative.....unless you take each planet and make it a another solar system....then a lot extra tweaking or development.
