Love Me Sailor is a 1945 novel from Australian author Robert Close. A woman travels on a ship from Chile to the US. Close finished writing the book in 1943. The book was to have been adapted into a radio play in 1946 but the production was cancelled. As he improves himself, he finds himself increasingly distanced from his working-class background and surroundings, becoming repelled by Lizzie’s hands. Eden differs from London in that Eden rejects socialism, attacking it as slave morality, and relies on a Nietzschean individualism.
