The Berkeley Co-op purchased much of its inventory from National Cooperatives, a national cooperative, which used the CO-OP label, commonly seen on much of the stock at the stores. The grocery was bought and operated by Andronico's until that chain went bankrupt in 2011. In November 2013, the old grocery re-opened as a non-grocery Savers Thrift Store. The adjacent building that was the site of the hardware store now houses several small businesses.

In the new book, every recipe comes in at under 400 calories per portion. One issue I have is some of the writing is not easy to read being printed in less than black on coloured backgrounds. She was born and educated in West London, where she still lives.
