Stephen Fry. I’m very sorry you couldn’t make the service itself, but I do understand that your life is immensely busy s extremely valuable. I am very touched by your generosity. I have never read the Four Quartets before, although we did The Waste Land for GCSE which I enjoyed enormously, so I am looking forward very much to reading and understanding these new poems. Are they connected at all to Beethoven’s quartets, I wonder? My favourite poet is Wordsworth at the moment.

Bradley Smith (June 30, 1910 – August 28, 1997) was a magazine photographer, writer, photojournalist and a founder of the American Society of Magazine Photographers.

The broad-backed hippopotamus. Rests on his belly in the mud; Although he seems so firm to us. He is merely flesh and blood. The Hippopotamus, T. S. Eliot. He, of course, as one of the generation that disdains the definite article, would have said a complete indifference to audience or awareness of theatre, as if Audience was a formless notion, instead of a live tangle of coughing, shuffling humanity, and Theatre an intellectual concept entirely divorced from actors, scenery, lighting-rigs and wooden boards.

Hippopotamus Sea has been added to your Cart. Hippopotamus Sea: My Viral Sobriety", a memoir by Jared Bryan Smith, is a perfect example of the insanity of addiction. Smith was doomed to follow in the footsteps of his alcoholic father who committed suicide when Smith was only eleven. It is a remarkable story of ones effort combatting the overwhelming struggles of the past by drowning out the fears and reality with a substantial exlixir of alcohol and drug use.

This is not quite ‘meaning of life’ territory, but the subjects of human identity, courage and endeavour are certainly taken for a spin

Wit and pathos bursting from a deliciously satirical and decadent package. This is not quite ‘meaning of life’ territory, but the subjects of human identity, courage and endeavour are certainly taken for a spin. Some may say it’s contrived – I’d say well of course it is, the level and complexity of the contrivance is what makes it so hilarious! I was thoroughly entertained by The Hippopotamus written by word master Stephen Fry. Wit and pathos bursting from a deliciously satirical and decadent package.
