I visited the Joshua Chamberlain Museum recently with my 11 year old grandson from Texas. A wonderful Museum to learn about the life of General Joshua Chamberlain. Wonderful guided tours, where you can ask questions about anything involving his life. The home is a great overview of his life as a professor, an officer in the Army, and as governor of the state of Maine. I highly recommend going to this Museum if you wish to learn more about him. more less.

We went to the Joshua Chamberlain museum in Brunswick, Maine recently. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain was a leader of men and possibly the most critical leader of the Civil War. He was a Civil war hero, President of Bowdoin College, and Governor of the state of Maine. The tour was awesome, and this is me standing next the chair that was in his office when he was the Governor of Maine! This photo doesn't do the chair justice. His actions and fortitude at the battle of Little Round Top (156 years ago yesterday), facing seemingly insurmountable odds probably kept the Union army from being crushed. He became president of Bowdoin College and governor of Maine.
