Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a new optical technique for performing non-contact, micron resolution, cross sectional tomography imaging in biological systems. The authors discuss applications of OCT to ophthalmology, general medicine, and microscopy. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides high-resolution cross-sectional images of biological tissues. Its lateral resolution can be further enhanced by using optical coherence microscopy (OCM).
