2 JEAN-PIERRE ROSAY AND EDGAR LEE STOUT We are introducing a notion of strong boundary value

2 JEAN-PIERRE ROSAY AND EDGAR LEE STOUT We are introducing a notion of strong boundary value. On one hand this notion is very general, since there is absolutely no restriction on the growth of functions near the boundary. 26 JEAN-PIERRE ROSAY AND EDGAR LEE STOUT The following Proposition shows that goodness is not only a sufficient but also a necessary condition for the extension of analytic functional carried by a compact set K (in a complex manifold, to local analytic functionals. Condition (2) below is in fact Martineau's definition of good compact set.

University of Washington Seattle. We introduce a notion of boundary values for functions along real analytic boundaries, without any restriction on the growth of the functions.

Jean-Pierre Rosay; Edgar Lee Stout. We introduce a notion of boundary values for functions along real analytic boundaries, without any restriction on the growth of the functions

Jean-Pierre Rosay; Edgar Lee Stout. Our definition does not depend on having the functions satisfy a differential equation, but it covers the classical case of non-characteristic boundaries. These boundary values are analytic functionals or, in the local setting, hyperfunctions. We give a characterization of nonconvex carriers of analytic functionals, in the spirit of the au theory for convex carriers.
