David Park by Richard Armstrong is a beautiful collection of Park's later work, when he broke from the Abstract Expressionist approach and returned to the figure. This book has many quality color reproductions (B&W as well) from the exhibitions at The Whitney Museum of American Art/1988-89 and The Oakland Museum/1989, as well as a biography of Park. Following his own beat, David Park created paintings that influenced many artists in the Bay Area and beyond.

Richard Armstrong (born 1949) is an American museum director. Since 2008, Armstrong has been the director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City and its other museums throughout the world. Before joining the Guggenheim, he was a curator at, and then director of, Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
