Be the first to ask a question about The Rolling Stone Illustrated History Of Rock & Roll. Lists with This Book. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. However, it enters a downswing thereafter and falls apart right around the Summer of Love. Sadly, this is the best history that I've read. I really should write one myself.

The best pictures from Johnny Ace to ZZ Top or from Elvis to Elvis! Only get this first edition, larger size book with the red cover. Worth buying for the picture of an unkown Rock and Roller on inside cover and a verbal discription of "Stairway to Heaven."
