I found this book after getting the first edition from the local library and lamenting how woefully out of date it was. This third edition is more up to date and filled with all the little details one needs to produce on Broadway. It is rather dry reading, as contract language tends to be, but don't let that stop you from getting it. If you dream of producing live theatre, it's a must have!

Last revision 2005, but it's packed with "old school" info as well as lots of dry legal explanations of the current practices and contracts related to the NYC and national theatre industry, unions, leagues, guilds, etc. Includes many explanations of how things were in years past which helps in understanding things today.

This book is what "This Business Of Music" is to the music industry. Invaluable insights into producing a "real" Broadway musical. Everything from securing rights to details on the internal workings of financing.

Only wish there were a version on CD ROM so the forms could be used as templates for our purposes.

Well worth the $$. Highly recommend!

This book covers it all - everything you'd want to know on the legal end for producing a Broadway show.
