Chambers, along with Nakada, would look at today’s racially divided church and rally for these same petitions. Speaking about poorly prepared missionaries, for example, he said, To ignore all the vast and competent literature relative to every country under Heaven today and to go to work for God, living more or less a hand-to-mouth spiritual life, is to be unfitted and unable to rightly divide the word of truth.

Over thirty books continue in print under the name of Oswald Chambers, yet he only set out one manuscript! His Bible studies were not the outcome of a cloistered scholar's bookish study- the poignant comments, based on his reading of the Scripture, were delivered as practical addresses to soldiers and young men in college. His wife's shorthand notes of the talks were later published and have been in continuous demand ever since. The idea is not that we do work for God, but that we are so loyal to Him that He can do His work through us -'I reckon on you for extreme service, with no complaining on your part and no explanation on Mine.' God wants to use us as He used His own Son. This, and other selections from the writings of Oswald Chambers, are collected in this volume to provide daily wisdom and insight to the disciples of Christ Jesus.

This little book is loaded with many succinct inspired thoughts from Chambers work as a Chaplain to British soldiers camped in the desert during World War I outside Cairo. Many of the short sentences are unique to this publication.
Mrs. Chambers began this project after Oswalds passing and her daughter completed it after her mother's death. I have given numerous copies to friends and family.Do not pay more than $10 for a used copy as the price can soar when supply is temporarily short. But if Chambers other Works have blessed you this work will too.
