Her heart captured by the very sight of handsome Wolf Trevelyan after he confronts her in the forest, Molly casts aside her concerned grandmother's reservations in order to pursue her instincts. Original.

This is an interesting and entertaining retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. The year is 1893 and in Kingsport, Maine red-haired Molly dons her red cape and picks up a basket of food to take to her grandmother. Once again, her mother tells her to stay on the road and not go into the forest. Of course, Molly takes the shorter path through the woods like she always does. This time, however, she meets Wolf Trevelyn, a man shunned by all the villagers. It is said that he killed his first wife on their wedding night. Strangely enough, Molly is not frightened by the supposedly wicked man and he is intrigued by the innocent young beauty. What follows is a thoroughly engrossing tale of innocence and love overcoming cynicism and fear. Molly is the kind of heroine that I love. She is caring and giving and staunch in the belief of good in others. Wolf infuriated me at times and I wanted to grab him and shake him. The ending was good and the epilogue was fantastic. This is a really good read.

I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did. Once I got into it I was hooked. Would recommend this book highly.
the heroine was lovely and patient.....hero very cynical....but a good read. Read this book many years ago and when I saw it again, I had to order.
