I read this book immediately after finishing Noah and Clark's story in: I loathed strongly disliked Ben in the first book, but indirectly glimpsed his HEA in the bonus chapter and was curious to see if he could ~. ~.

I first discovered 'The Home' series in November 2012 with Just what the Truth is. True Confession.

Cardeno’s stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset. I first discovered 'The Home' series in November 2012 with Just what the Truth is.

How many strikes did I get in this game before I was out of his life?

Leave it to me to start with the one person whom I actually wanted to see first thing in the morning. And every moment after that. It was still early, so I hoped that maybe Micah was still asleep and I could crawl back.

What a delightful story !! Cardeno C. has beautiful characters, a well written tale, and amazing erotic sex scenes, and I always get rewarded buying these books. Tall, fit, nearly 40, Micah is a top lawyer, negotiator/litigator, and new to the firm. Ben is also a lawyer in that firm, but a different area. He's 6'3", good looking, and a good man, living in the "closet", so-to-speak. He wants to be himself and quit pretending to be who his folks want him to be, after all they have one gay son, Noah, and hate it. So, when Micah asks him to dinner after work, he says yes, and these two are perfect for each other. It's fun to have guys in suits, great at their jobs, and looking for their special someone. Micah doesn't know about the "closet" factor, and the attraction, feelings, and kisses expand, including first time M/M sex for Ben. This tale is funny, serious, loving, and glorious. One problem puts a damper on things, and the guys, their friends, and co-workers will have to fill that void. Micah's family is awesome. Their slow burn of a relationship growing into love has a few bumps. The storytelling is superb. It is written beautifully in first person, Ben, and it's a delightful read. I was engrossed and hated to put it down even for a moment. It is part of the "Home" series, but each story stands alone. * A VERY HEA- happy ever after.
I highly recommend this amazing story of love. ENJOY !!!

Cardeno C. is an auto-buy. I first discovered 'The Home' series in November 2012 with Just what the Truth is.

True Confession. I am a re-reader. Pretty unusual for me not to have read each and everyone of my books at least twice. If it's a 'onie' then the author is no more than two stars and not worth my time.

At least five times.

This is how many times I've read Just What the Truth Is. Truth is five stars of everything to me. Five stars of hotness, five star plot and five star writing. I may have read He Completes Me more but not really sure.

What happens when you are just living life without checking in on it and someone else makes an assumption? If you are Ben Forman you wake up from your stupor and realize that you are in a same-sex relationship. Your life hasn't so much been denial as a complete fog.

This is Ben Forman's life. He went to work everyday like a regular guy and then Micah happened. Where before there had been meaningless serial dating that he had approached clinically knowing there would be an expiration date now there was Micah and Micah kind of blots out the sun.

This is not a gay-for-you. This is Ben Forman finally waking up to the 'Truth' of himself. Ben has kind of been an ass. He appears briefly in an earlier part of the 'home' series and doesn't come off as a good person at all. When we learn Ben's story we understand, we also understand why Ben has been so unaware of himself.

Some angst. I am an angst fan. No denying it. Some struggle, because relationships are hard. All adds up to a great romance for Ben and Micah. A straight (haha) forward romance with all of the ups and downs that happen when two people begin a life together.

Did you see the part where I gave this five stars??!

Okay where to start with this review.......

I don't want to spoil it for anyone but Lord this one took my breath away. I mean there is denial and then there is the denial Ben was doing. Ben knew for a long time he was different just like his brother Noah but he also lived in a house where his parents were not having it. They did not do gay and their golden boy could not and would not be gay like his little brother Noah. With that in mind Ben knew he had to keep up his straight life for his family but one sight of Micah and Ben's walls fell down.

Micah is self confident and a great lawyer. He knows he is gay and no matter what people say that is his life and no matter what he is going to live it. Then he meets gorgeous Ben Foreman and his world is rocked upside down. He knows Ben is gay but no one else knows it and he refuses to go back to the closet days. Ben will have to come face to face with his fears in order to keep Micah. But will he choose family over Micah and suffer in silence or will he finally stand up to his family and have the life he has always dreamed of?

I have read most of the Home Series and have loved each one! But I think this has been my favorite because it included so many of the guys from previous books and not only in a slight mention. I loved seeing the change in the relationship between Ben, his brother, Noah, and Ben's former best friend and Noah's partner, Clark.

It made me angry at times because as a mother and grandmother, I can't imagine anything that would ever make me want to distance myself from them as Ben's parents did. I may not have always liked what they did but it never made me not want to be there to support them. But I was happy that Ben could finally see what Noah had endured for so long. And Noah really came through for Ben after years of having a strained relationship.

I loved Micah's family and laughed so hard at times. Just thinking about it hours after I read it still makes me chuckle. The dialogue between Micah, his mother, and his sister was hysterical. If I were Ben, I would have wanted to turn and run. Even Micah threatened to at one point, and it was his family!

If you haven't read the series yet but plan to, I would read those books first since so many of the characters are included in this book. But if you don't plan to, you will still enjoy this book; you just wouldn't understand the deeper connections.

Each time I have finished one of the books in the series, I have gone back and reread all my favorite parts because I just wasn't ready to part from the characters. I really think you'll connect with all of them!
