Kaempfert originally used it under the title "Beddy Bye" as part of the instrumental score for the movie A Man Could Get Killed. The song was made famous in 1966 by Frank Sinatra, although it was initially given to Melina Mercouri, who thought that a man's vocals would better suit the melody and therefore declined to sing it.

BOOK ONE. 1. In 1919, Detroit, Michigan, was the single most successful .

World War I had ended, and Detroit had played a significant part in the Allies' victory, supplying them with tanks and trucks and aeroplanes. Now, with the threat of the Hun over, the automobile plants once again turned their energies to retooling for motorcars. On the opening night, his mother sat in the front row and applauded her son's success. It was at that moment that Frieda knew how God's promise was going to come true.

Strangers in the Night" is a song written by Charles Singleton and Eddie Snyder. Frank Sinatra recorded this song in 1966 for his album, Strangers in the Night. Contrary to popular belief, Sinatra actually didn't care for the song, saying: "a piece of shit," and "the worst fucking song that I have ever heard. Sinatra performed this song in various concerts in his late career, one such performance can be found on Sinatra 80th: Live in Concert

I really enjoyed this book and once I started it, I had to finish it the same day. I was suspicious of all the men in this book, and even towards the best friend - you really didn't know who it was until the end. It was a great book.

The book was excellent - caught my interest right away - couldn't wait to see what happened with the characters and how they developed as it went along. I felt the book was very well written and details were great. Could not wait to see what the next book would bring.

When I first heard of the series, I was intrigued. This is definitely up my alley. I love mystery, romance, a combination of the two and new things to explore. I picked up the book and couldn't put it down. This series has cost me many a sleepless day.

As a personal friend of the author, I highly recommend this and the other books in series to anyone who loves to read. Definately an attention getter.

Mostly because I grew up in the same town of the story. It was badly proofread and edited though. It was very fast and easy reading.

I bought this book (and subsequent books) yesterday at an Author book signing. Ms. Teigland is a delight to meet. Now here are the mistakes I made with the book. 1) I started reading it at 6:30 in the evening. 2) I finished it at 1:45 in the morning, straight through with merely one popcorn break. There is popcorn all over the floor from hand stopping midway to mouth...yes it is that intense. 3) The next book is sitting on my coffee table screaming at me like a crazed day after Thanksgiving Christmas shopper...."Open, Open, Open". Ms. Teigland weaves a story where you really don't know "who done it" until close to the end. Her characters are real, her places are real, her plot is well thought out, well layered and believable. I appreciated the lack of a "superhero" leaping tall fantasies in a single bound. The best part of this book...Ms. Teigland didn't run out of gas and leave the reader hanging with that "huh?" look on their face at the end. This is a thoroughly wonderful book.

Just OK
Put this one on your must read list! Katie and Billie's freindship and strength as women will having you cheering. Added to that, a cast of clever characters, a layerd plot, and a hunky Detective, made Stangers in the Night a page turning thrill ride. Can't wait for the next one!
