As it happens I sailed into Cochin a year or so later following the recommendation of the owner of Honky Tonk whom I d met in Galle. (He'd told me he was an industrial chemist... ha ha Im very naive!) Im sure the authors' story is true and I of course found it fascinating. Im sure it hasn't had the attention it deserves becuase of the rather senstive nature of the whole thing. Definitely one of those "stranger than fiction" accounts. The worst perils of ocean voyaging are not the mountainous seas and howling winds....!

I just read this and am under the impression they were a couple, alison is an attractive women.Anyway this is a real page turner and I'm surprised hasn't been filmed yet,(as far as I know)Some minor quibbles over the obvious ... retentive style of our heros and there fanatical revenge obsession that blew a dynamite load of hash out of the water aside I reccomend this book highly as a thriller.A real life chiller.
Stop prohibition 2 before we get Mafia 2 that will take over the planet. Please, legalize all ... now.Thank you.
